Recipe: Quick & Easy Cannabutter

  by

Cannabis Butter or CannaButter is the ultimate icon of the medible world. It is the ingredient behind almost all cannabis edibles, incl. brownies and spacecake.

The general principle behind this recipe is that butter absorbs fat soluble cannabinoids such as THC and CBD. This solution can then be used to medicate practically any meal or recipe that requires, or could use a little, butter.

The total time it takes to create this beautiful and flexible edible is about 1 hour.
10-15 minutes are dedicated to prepping and the cooking time totals at 45 minutes.

It is advisable that you decarboxylate your buds before commencing cooking.

INGREDIENTS

1/4 ounce cannabis buds, finely ground
1/2 cup (one stick) unsalted butter
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Below is a list of necessary supplies to begin cooking:

Medium Saucepan
Wooden Ladle
Spoon
Metal Strainer
Cheesecloth
Container (with a tight fitting lid)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

METHOD

Melt the butter on low heat in a medium saucepan.
Add the ground buds to the melted butter a little bit at a time, stirring in between.
Simmer on a low heat for 45mins, stirring frequently. While simmering, you should see start to see small bubbles forming on the surface.
After simmering, strain the butter into the container using the metal strainer to filter out the ground buds.
Press the spoon against the ground bud in the metal strainer to squeeze out any potent infused butter left behind.
It is optional to re-strain the mixture through a fine cheesecloth to filter out the finer bud dust that may have gotten through
What is left should be green-tinted oil that will eventually set into a beautiful green block of edible goodness.
Place your newly made cannabutter into an air tight container and store it in the fridge or freezer for maximum shelf life.

This extraction can then be used to create countless cannabis infused treats or meals
